OKEHAMPTON band DownFall is performing strongly in a nationwide competition — and needs the continued support of people from the town to help them clinch the top prize this week.

The band, comprised of Jake and Mack Hodgson, Karl Little and Nathan Bostock, is looking to win the title of Brand New Artist 2015. The competition looks to promote the best unsigned talent in the country with the aim of making the competition winner reach the Christmas number 1 spot on the charts. The winner receives a £100,000 recording contract.

At the beginning of this week — the final week of the contest — DownFall was in second position. The competition closes at midnight on June 30. It is a genuine contender for the top prize, having been in the top three rankings for the entirety of the competition.
