THE girls badminton team from West Devon are celebrating after the Devon Games to Inspire 2011 held at Exeter University.
The West Devon girls team consisted of Tess Ashen, Celine Conley, Steffanie Hutchins and Enya Williams.
After losing to the eventual winners, Exeter, in the first match, they regrouped and won all their subsequent matches to finish third overall by beating a strong Teignbridge team two games to one in the third/fourth position play off.
The West Devon boys team of Jack Davey; Reece Foster, Ben Rowe, Sam and George Jeffrey were up against strong opposition and although losing some games by only a couple of points, eventually finished eighth.
The West Devon Badminton squad were coached to their success by Rachael Williams and Alan Berry from BAT's Badminton Club, based at Bere Alston.
