MOUNT House attended the annual Prep Schools? athletics meeting at King?s College Taunton last week, and met with outstanding success - the squad won 12 gold medals, six silvers and six bronzes.
The stars for the boys were Mikey Cousens (Tavistock) who won all three events in his age group, and Tom Painter, who won all four events he entered. Tom broke the Mount House high jump record with a leap of 1m65, which puts him within 3cm of the national prep schools? record.
The boys also won the coveted blue riband event, the 4x100m relay.
The girls were not to be outdone, Georgina Killingbeck (Tavistock), Hattie Cunningham (Brentor) and Ella Hartley each winning two golds in their respective events.
Athletics coach Geoff Whaley was delighted with the squad?s performance, and is looking forward to the upcoming Kelly Trophy meeting in June.
