THE Barnfield Theatre in Exeter was the location for an amazing journey through time last weekend for the latest production of the Get Changed Theatre Company.

The show, a playful adaptation of Back to the Future, provided laughs and surprises with mad cavemen, glowing uranium sticks and the three tenors singing opera.

Both nights were well attended with ticket sales outselling a recent show by comedian Phil Jupitus.

Among those to attend were Okehampton mayor Cllr the Rev Mike Davies, county councillor Kevin Ball and West Devon mayor Cllr Bill Cann.

Cllr The Rev Mike Davies said: 'It was a great performance last night. It certainly had me laughing a lot.'

Get Changed Theatre Company is a dynamic and energetic organisation working in west and central Devon with adults with learning disabilities.

Their productions and sessions help people to develop confidence, promote social inclusion and empower people to realise their full potential through the medium of art and theatre.

As well as boosting confidence and abilities to follow instructions and play a part in the wider company, the work to prepare for the show has counted towards the National Open College Network qualifications in dance and drama for the participants.

The company operates a weekly drama workshop on Wednesdays and welcomes anyone who would like to vonunteer with the company.

Get Changed needs help at the group sessions and with the management of the organisation.
