TRAINS will be running again on the Tamar Valley Line (Gunnislake to Plymouth) on Saturday, following five days of rail improvement work.
Replacement bus services are transporting passengers while the line is closed this week for new rails, timbers and sleepers to be installed.
Network Rail has been carrying out essential track maintenance and renewals on a number of West Country branch lines this week, with the goal of providing smoother and more reliable train journeys.
First Great Western's regional manager Julian Crow said: 'We hate to disrupt the journeys of our customers but the engineering work is essential so passengers in Devon and Cornwall can benefit from a more reliable and efficient service.
'We have worked closely with Network Rail to minimise the impact and have provided alternative services to bring passengers to their destinations.'
Customers are advised to check with National Rail Enquiries on 08457 484950 before travelling.
