JUNE saw golf being played at Tavistock Golf Club for the first time in three months, the weather was fine and the ladies' competitions soon got under way.

Congratulations go to Shirley Trevena for coming sixth out of 100 players when she represented Tavistock Golf Club at the LGU silver medal finals on Monday June 25 at Yeovil.

On Tuesday June 12 the fist round of the Challenge Bowl Competition was played, followed by the second round on Friday. Elaine Cooper won this competition and runner-up was Jane Scourse. Elaine Cooper also won the Pat Turnbull Trophy.

On Tuesday June 19 the ladies played the Warren Crocus competition. Marjorie Greening was the winner in the silver section and June Kendall in the bronze section. The winners will go on to represent Tavistock at Dawlish Warren in the finals of this competition later this year.

On Tuesday June 26 a stableford competition took place and winners were: Division 1, Kerry Gawman; Division 2, Beryl House; Division 3, Dawn Gawman.
