FOUR youngsters from the Okehampton area recently successfully completed an expedition in the Brecon Beacons in South Wales as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
Upon their return, the young people presented a report to the Okehampton and District Duke of Edinburgh?s Award committee about their experiences on the trip.
The fifth member of the group Tom Webster, unfortunately broke his ankle just a few days before the expedition was due to leave. He will be completing his expedition during the forthcoming season.
Rob Deane and Sarah Green who supervised the expedition, said the assessor had expressed concerns the group may have chosen a too difficult route to enable a satisfactory outcome. However, he was very impressed with their skill, ability and aptitude.
