Okehampton Seconds 7
Westexe (Tiverton) 1
AFTER several weeks of uncertainty as to whether the season would continue Okehampton resumed play but still with the uncertainly as to whether there will be promotion and relegation issues come the end of the season.
Okehampton got off to the best possible start with a fine Ian Reddington defence-splitting pass finding Daniel Johnston who coolly fired home, giving the visiting keeper no chance.
Minutes later Okehampton increased their lead when Jerome Whatley crossed in low and Jason Sandford side-footed home nicely.
With Okehampton looking like scoring with every attack Lloyd Chapman scored from 35 yards with a superb drive.
The visitors forced a corner on a rare attack and their striker stabbed home after Okehampton defence failed to clear.
Virtually from the kick-off the home side pressed forward and when the ball was half cleared Tom Reilly thumped home from 20 yards.
The shooting power and accuracy of the home side continued and it was Simon Pearson's turn to crack one home, this time from 20 yards. Jerome Whatley teased his marker all afternoon and after fine play his cross was put away by Sandford for his second.
Tim Shaw completed the rout from a Johnston corner with Okehampton looking sharp after their enforced break.
This Saturday away to Axmouth, 3pm kick off.
