A BABY girl born on Christmas Day was a special birthday and Christmas present rolled into one for a couple in Horrabridge.

Sandra Harris gave birth to baby Bobbi-Jo, who weighed in at 6lbs 10oz, at Derriford Hospital on Christmas Day.

Bobbi-Jo arrived just before Sandra's 32nd birthday on December 28. Her husband Philip's birthday was two days later.

Sandra said the baby was 'doing champion' and her first child was the best Christmas present she could have hoped for.

The proud mum said the baby had been expected on December 27, but her arrival two days early had interrupted the Christmas festivities. 'That morning I had got up to cook the turkey,' she said. 'By the evening, I was back home with the baby'.

Sandra and her husband, who is in the forces, moved to Horrabridge from her native Sunderland back in August.
