PUPILS at a West Devon primary school enjoyed a multicultural week recently as part of a Curriculum Enrichment Week.
Milton Abbot Primary School pupils ditched their usual lessons to experience different types of learning in the recent curriculum enrichment week, which was based on the theme of Japan.
Over four days the pupils were put in groups of mixed ages and took part in a series of Japanese activities.
They made sushi and green tea cake with a parent at the school, Tamami Benjamin, who is originally from Japan, learned about the Geography of the country and a Japanese language student from Tavistock College visited the pupils to teach them some of the language.
The children also took part in a Japanese art activity, making origami, Japanese trees, tissue flowers and puppets.
