AN award-winning hairdresser who has an MBE, was chief judge on the BBC’s Young Hairdresser of the Year and is a regular on This Morning, visited a West Devon salon last week to pass on some of her experience.

The Cutting Company in Yelverton was provided with the rare opportunity to have some training with Beverly C (formerly Beverly Cobella) and product line Goldwell’s top colourist Amy Johnson.

Beverly was awarded an MBE in 2008 and was crowned British Hairdresser of the Year twice, London Hairdresser of the Year and various other titles throughout her career. She was resident stylist on ‘How Do I Look’ with Ulrika Johnson, appeared several times on the Living Channel, was an expert on Channel 4’s Britain’s Worst Hairdresser and has been a regular on 10 Years Younger.

The Cutting Company team learned cutting and colouring techniques from the two guests during the day.

Co-owner Jayne Bacon said: ‘Beverly demonstrated on two models, gave us a masterclass in colour and cutting in the morning, then in the afternoon we worked alongside the Goldwell global team with seven of our own models to do an inspirational colour and cut guided by them.

‘This opportunity doesn’t arise very often so the team was pretty excited about it!’
