CALLINGTON PC Julian Collison has been named neighbourhood beat manager of the year for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The officer, who will be honoured at the East Cornwall Local Policing Awards in Bodmin on December 3, has been praised for his positive results through his action plan for unruly licensed premises and his policing of problem resident activities on the town's housing estates.

PC Collison (above) was involved in the first ASB closure order against a private landlord at Callington.

Officer and colleague PC Joy Stoppard will be given the Commander's Certificate for an incident in July when they sustained injuries while attempting to stop a driver later charged with eleven offences.
