FOUR ambulance staff from Tavistock have been awarded the Queen?s medal for long service and good conduct.

Technicians Adrian Barrell, Peter Clark and John Strickland, and paramedic Roy Willcocks were among 82 Devon-based ambulance staff to be commended for their hard work for Westcountry Ambulance Services NHS Trust.

A range of medals and certificates were handed out during a special ceremony earlier this month at the Fingle Glen Golf Hotel at Tedburn St Mary, near Exeter.

Michael Willis, chief executive of Westcountry Ambulance Services, said: ?Westcountry Ambulance Service staff work extremely hard in what can often be difficult or traumatic situations.

?It is therefore right that their hard work and effort is recognised and celebrated.?
