Okehampton Argyle U13s 4 Barnstaple SAS U13s 3 OKEHAMPTON were taken by surprise when SAS scored within the first five minutes. This spurred Okehampton on and they broke with a good ball from Harry Smith down the right to Luke Jefferies who was unlucky not to score. Okehampton continued to put on pressure and were awarded a penalty which was well taken by Bradley Ausden to make the scores level. Okehampton continued to have chances with excellent shots from Andy Milton and Tom Boother. Ausden then saw his moment and scored to put Okehampton in front. SAS rallied and in a goalmouth scramble equalised again. The second half started almost identical to the first with SAS scoring quickly. But this was the only chance SAS had. Okehampton fought all the way and were rewarded when Tom Boother put through an excellent ball which Ausden coolly took around the defence to finish well. With less than ten minutes to go Okehampton were awarded a direct free kick which Ausden powered in to make the score 4-3. This was a good result for Okehampton with all players battling well and some excellent work from Tom Jeenes in goal. Men of the match: Bradley Ausden and Alex Donnelly. Next match away to Ilfracombe. Barnstaple 2 Okehampton Argyle U10s 0 OKEHAMPTON suffered their first league defeat of the season in cold windy conditions. Barnstaple played a strong physical game which Okehampton found difficult to match, and Barnstaple had a one-goal lead at half-time. In the second half Okehampton suffered numerous injuries leading to three substitutions. Barnstaple scored again halfway through the half to make the final score 2-0.
