Blues and Appledore U13s 4 Okehampton U13s 5 OKEHAMPTON started poorly and quickly found themselves 1-0 down. For the next 20 minutes the game was evenly contested until Appledore scored again, quickly followed by two more. Half time could not come quickly enough for Okehampton. The second started with Okehampton looking more up for the game and they were rewarded when after good quick passing the ball broke kindly to Ollie Squires who made it 4-1. Two minutes later Okehampton got further into the game when Bradley Ausden scored from 20 yards with an unstoppable drive. Another soon followed for Ausden after an excellent Corey Burns pass. For the next ten minutes only last ditch defending by Appledore kept Okehampton at bay until a corner found Corey Burns at the back post who scored with an excellent header. With the score at 4-4 the Okehampton defence were playing well, led by the outstanding Alex Donnelly and Tom Bullingham. A lovely pass from Luke Jefferies found Ausden in space - he outpaced the first defender and went around the last, smashing the ball from 25 yards past the Appledore keeper to give Okehampton a well deserved win and a vital three points. Men of the match were the whole team. This Sunday home to Braunton, kick-off 11am. Okehampton Argyle U13s 2 Lynton and Lynmouth 3 OKEHAMPTON started well with Bradley Ausden unlucky not to score early on from a good ball by Harry Smith. Some lovely football in the middle followed from Luke Alden, crossing the ball into Smith, resulting in the first goal to Okehampton. Alden then nearly scored from an excellent through ball from Corey Burns. Lynton pulled a goal back. The midfield continued to work well and was soon rewarded with a goal from Burns. Hayden Bond working well in goal ensured the score remained at 2-1 at half time. Okehampton were caught napping at the start of the second half and two goals from Lynton were quickly scored. Argyle kept trying to put the pressure on but were unable to pull the score level. Good defending from Hayden and Tom Bullingham prevented Lynton scoring again . Okehampton were unlucky in this match and deserved to at least get the draw. Players of the match were the whole team. DJM Astor Tavistock Town U13 1 Morley rangers U13 2 TOWN took the lead after a great strike by Sam Turner gave the keeper no chance. Rangers came right back into it and after a goalmouth scramble poked the ball in to make the half time score 1-1. The second half was end to end play and with both defences seeming to be in charge the game looked like it was heading for a draw until Rangers broke down the right to snatch the winner right at the end. This was a good performance by Town and they were unlucky not to get something from this game. Man of the match Edward Longden. Tavistock Town U12 1 Saltash United Juniors 1 THIS fixture should have been a comfortable win for Tavistock, but with the visitors making a bright start Tavistock found it hard to get started. After about 15 minutes Saltash were rewarded for their pressure by taking the lead. After a half-time talk Tavistock started the much livelier side, creating many chances. Eventually a free kick from man of the match Sam Hicks levelled the score. Tavistock kept pressurising, with the visitors only having a couple of chances in the second half. There were notable performances from Luke McClung, James Scrivener and Lee Rosser-Lewis.
