THE land at Town Farm, Broadwoodwidger was offered for sale by public auction last Friday.

In a packed auction room in Tavistock, the sale of three lots was conducted by David Kivell, who heads Kivells Farm Selling Department across Devon and Cornwall.

Situated around the village, the land lies approximately one mile north of the main A30 Launceston to Okehampton road.

Lot One comprised 99.25 acres of accommodation land of which 26.54 acres are eligible for arable aid and sold prior to auction in excess of the guide of £2,000 per acre.

Lot Two extended to 95.71 acres of which 28.92 acres are eligible for arable aid and sold for £220,000 (£2,300.)

Lot Three comprised 28.13 acres of pastureland which sold for £50,000 (1,770 per acre) to an adjoining farmer.

After the auction Mr Kivell said it had created considerable interest which demonstrated the demand for bare land.
