TWO excellent teams battled out a competitive and enthralling match. Plympton batted first and a combination of tight bowling by Court, Korangten and Gray, backed by a surperb fielding display, kept the Plympton batsmen in check.

Ashley Woodrow capped an outstanding day in the field by capturing two late wickets. Plympton's innings ended on 93 for 6 wickets.

Whitchurch batsmen were soon troubled against a hostile attack of Skinner and Travarthan, who each picked up three wickets. Charlie Brereton batted resolutely, but was run out and Whitchurch subsided to 63 all out.
