THREE West Devon artists have been chosen by the BBC to have their work shown on the big screen in Plymouth.

Val Hampson from Ashbury, and Ron Andrews and Nadia Tracy both from South Tawton, are three of the 29 artists chosen to show their work on the 30m squared big screen — one of the big screens which will show work by more than 230 Devon artists and makers across 111 venues.

Val Hampson said: 'This has come as a wonderful surprise and seeing my Ostrich looking out from a 100ft screen will be amazing.

'This is my first time doing the open studios and I think that the fact three of us out of eleven got selected, is impressive.

'I am really proud to have my work up there on display, it's such a great opportunity,' said Val.

Val's work can also been seen at DAN's Taster Show at the Duchy Square Centre for Creativity in Princetown.

The Devon Artist Network (DAN) Open Studios selection is being shown on the big screen through to the end of the DAN Open Studios event on Sunday, September 20.

DAN is a membership organisation for Devon based artists and makers. It was formed in 2004 with the aims of supporting and promoting the work of artists.
