WEST Devon and East Cornwall artists' group 'Drawn to the Valley' are celebrating ten years of living, working and opening their studios to visitors in the Tamar Valley with a variety of events and exhibitions during the next 12 months.
For hundreds of years, artists have been drawn to the Tamar Valley for inspiration. The group members use many different mediums, from ink, paint, clay, wood, metal, glass, thread, canvas and paper to explore ideas inspired by the Tamar Valley's area of outstanding natural beauty, resulting in unique works of art.
This year, the group aims to celebrate its tenth anniversary by collaborating with the public and organisations to co-ordinate a variety of events and exhibitions during the year.
This will start with drawing events at The Garden House, Buckland Monachorum and culminates in an exhibition which coincides with Drawn to the Valley's annual event, 'Open Studios' from August 31 to September 8.
This summer, Drawn to the Valley will be collaborating with Cornwall Open Studios between May 25 to June 2, and the annual summer art exhibition takes place in Tavistock Town Hall between August 5 and 11.
