THREE talented artists from St Dominick have won prizes for their artwork from Tesco which went on display in the Callington store.

The winners, all pupils at St Dominick C of E VA School, were awarded art equipment at a competition held at the village hall as part of the primary school's Easter fete.

Angela Palin, executive head, said: 'The Tesco store in Callington arrang-ed an Easter art competition for the pupils, which advertised  the fete, and donated prizes to the winning pupils. They also generously donated items for the raffle.'

Presenting the prizes, Tesco community champion Alan Woollcombe said: 'It's been a delight — there has been so much talent and enthusiasm on display here.'

Mrs Palin said: 'We want to raise funds to buy equipment to enhance the school playground.

'With the monies raised, the pupils are hoping to be able to soon enjoy working and playing outside at picnic tables in the school's grounds.'
