A GROUP of professional artists have come together to support the Domestic Violence and Abuse Service by exhibiting their work in Tavistock.
The artists include Ian Heard, Henrietta Farleigh, Kate Higham, Thomas Hargreaves, Pete Reeves, Angela Thomas and Jenny Johnson.
Richard Varley, director of the Tavistock Art Gallery, which is hosting the exhibition, said: 'It's remarkable —we have painters, sculptors, photographers and jewellers, all sharing a single space and a common cause.'
Lauren Stone on behalf of the charity said: 'This kind of help is desperately needed.
'Last year, we helped 1,200 people to survive their hidden suffering.
'The artists have done their part by providing their work, now we need the support of the public. The art is outstanding, and the cause is compelling.'
The exhibition will run from November 12 to 26, which includes 'Dickensian Night' on Friday November 25. The Tavistock Art Gallery is open from Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm.
The charity's Helpline is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm and Wednesday, 7pm to 9pm, offering general support, risk assessment and safety planning. Contact 01626 365087 or go to http://www.domesticviolenceandabuseservice.org.uk">www.domesticviolenceandabuseservice.org.uk
