PRINCETOWN-based Aune Head Arts is inviting artists working with sound, video, photography and writing/poetry to apply to take part in two projects. Granite Shadows will bring a writer together with two primary schools. This is to encourage children to write contemporary narratives, inspired by Dartmoor, to be translated into a shadow puppet play. A creative document of the project will also be produced by a video artist, to be screened as a short on rural touring schemes. Women in Farming will explore the life and work of women in hill farming in Devon through a series of residencies. The project will commission three lead artists and three apprentice artists; a team of lead artist and apprentice artist will be paired to one farm. Each pair of artists will be involved with their farm across the farming year for a total of eight weeks, spread over the year. In addition Aune Head Arts is seeking to develop a small pool of experienced project managers with a strong interest in contemporary artwork in a rural context, and experience of working with digital art work, to help deliver the projects. Interested artists and project managers should go to the AHA website at http://www.auneheadarts.org.uk">www.auneheadarts.org.uk to find out more about the projects and fill in an application form on-line. The deadline for applications is January 9 2006 for Granite Shadows and project managers, and January 16 for Women in Farming.
