THE walls of a dental practice in Tavistock were awash with colour recently, from a display of children's artwork after a summer colouring competition.

The NHS Dental practice, ADP Tavistock, at Kilworthy Park held a children's colouring competition and a quiz for older children over the summer.

Practice manager Claire Mellor said: 'This is the first one we've done but we want to make it a regular thing.

'The kids really enjoyed doing it and it's nice to get them involved in something which makes them less fraught about coming to the dentist.'

Emma, four, won the colouring competition and Jack, nine, won the quiz. They received book vouchers as prizes.

Orla and Layla, both five, were the runners up and went home with a kite each.

The practice will be holding a Christmas card competition during November, cards for which can be picked up from the practice.
