INSIGHTS into psychic art and Indian enlightenment are on offer in Okehampton next weekend. The Awareness Group which meets in Okehampton four times a year have lined up two intriguing guest speakers for their last meeting of the year on Sunday, November 19. Patrick Gamble, who lives near Launceston, woke up in the night with an sudden urge to paint. What he painted that night was such a revelation that it completely changed the course of Patrick's life. Patrick's psychic artwork has been the subject of many TV documentaries and he has recently featured in Spirit and Destiny and Fate magazines. Patrick can not only see our spirit guides, he can paint them too. Patrick's talk will focus on the importance of connecting with guides as well as discussing colour and the strong therapeutic qualities which painting offers. He will paint someone's spirit guide during the morning session and give a personal reading based on what he has created. Following a light lunch, the afternoon speaker will be Vedant, giving a talk entitled Truth and Reality. Now resident in Chagford, Vedant has studied for more than 25 years in India, 16 of which under the self-realised master Papaji, who is internationally renowned for his teachings on enlightenment. Vedant will start the afternoon with a meditation and then continue with a discussion on Papaji's teachings. Papaji encouraged followers to accept the truth of who they are, this truth is not associated with any particular religion but is the essence of all religions and the embodiment of eternal concepts. Vedant is currently residing at Whiddon Park Farmhouse, near Chagford with spiritual development teacher Mandy Louise-Fletcher where he is offering guidance and a weekly open house.
