FIRE crews attended a car fire in Gunnislake on Monday, October 12.

On the initial report of a car involved in a road traffic collision, crews from Callington and Saltash and the rescue tender from Bodmin were sent to the incident. On arrival they found a single vehicle, well alight. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and extinguished the fire using two high-pressure hose reels. The vehicle was unoccupied.

Arson was suspected. Devon and Cornwall Police were in attendance and will be making further enquiries.
