I WORK in the paper shop facing the Yelverton roundabout, where it is proposed that a mobile phone mast is to be erected.
To have this sited in the heart of the village among shops, the local bus stop, a children's playground, the church and houses, both those on the roundabout and on the periphery is an arrogant and ignorant proposition from Orange.
Many people air their views in the shop — those for the mast claiming that the radiation emitted is too low to be harmful. This has not as yet been proven.
Oncology wards are at an all time high, and the majority of Yelverton residents do not wish to be guineas pigs.

However, having said this, it is noted with dismay that the infrastructure is already in place, which indicates that the mast is a fait accompli.
To meet this action, drastic measures need to be taken.
