THIS year 2005 has seen Tavistock CC have its most successful season, the 1st XI winning Division 1 of the Devon League, taking them to the premier. The club has been on top since the first game back at the beginning of May. A major contribution to this has been the batting of Arnie Searle, who has amassed 1,200 runs including five centuries, averaging 133 and heading the Devon League averages. New recruit Kevin Wilcock has also performed well, scoring 800 runs and taking 25 wickets. The 2nd XI achieved promotion to the B Division under the guidance of John McGahey. The new venture into the Tamar League has seen promotion to Division 1 and the winning of the KO cup. The club was also successful in winning the Lancaster cup now sponsored by Atlas International. In the Colts section the Under 11s team, under the guidance of Phil Stephens, has won the Palladium League and the Devon Under 11 cup. The Club finished its season with president?s day, where president Stuart Munday gave out the awards for the season.
