Tavistock Ladies 1st XI 6

St Agnes Ladies 1

TAVISTOCK were quick to pick up the pace of the game, Susannah Boulle and Laura Stapleton feeding ball up to a running Emma White and Laura Armstrong.

Armstrong scored the first goal as she drove past players and slotted the ball past the keeper.

Steph Mills performed some good block tackles on the side -line and secured the ball for Gaspar and White. Boulle had crossed the ball in and Gaspar scored the second.

The odd time that St Agnes did enter the D, goalkeeper Zoe Viggers kept the ball safe with some good saves and decisions. The second half saw St Agnes score early from a short corner and it appeared as if Tavistock?s feathers were ruffled. The team lost their composure for the first 15 minutes and were losing possession too easily.

But Tavistock turned the game around and displayed some excellent hockey. Lisa Butler worked hard on the forward line and scored her first goal of the match.

Boulle and Stapleton were a thorn in the opposition?s side through midfield and this allowed Boulle to take numerous rebound shots at the keeper. One of these rebounded to Butler who was quick to find the space behind the keeper.

At 4-1 Tavistock were showing they were the dominant team. and Dunn and White worked well together as Dunn drove up the pitch to support the forwards. Gaspar had found her spark and it was not long before she secured another excellent goal.

With only minutes to go Armstrong scored the last goal of the match.

This week Tavistock are away at Bull Point playing United Services with a 10.30am start.

Player of the match: Emma White.
