Central U15s 2

Okehampton Argyle U15s 4

THISwas always going to be a tough match against the league leaders, although Okehampton beat them at home earlier in the season.

Okehampton seemed the stronger from the start. With Ausden and Smith working well together and the defence holding firm it was not long before they went 0-1 up after a shot from Smith was deflected into the Central goal.

With about 20 minutes left of the first half, disaster struck when Okehampton's Haniell Laybourn stretched for the ball and fell to the ground in pain. This looked a serious injury and an ambulance was called. He had dislocated his knee and was taken to hospital.

Okehampton were a little unsettled when the match restarted but they rallied and Craig Dennis made it 0-2 after a great run and a good finish.

Central replied in a goalmouth scramble to make it 1-2.

In the second half Central looked strong but against the run of play scored the equaliser.

After more great moves from Ausden, Dennis took the ball round three Central players to make it 2-3. Ausden's persistence paid off and after another great run he took the ball around the keeper to make it 2-4.

This week, a cup match away to Countess Wear Dynamoes. Kick-off 10.15am.

Exmouth Amateur Youth 4

Okehampton U13s 3

OKEHAMPTON travelled to Exmouth for what proved to be a very exciting match.

The start of the game was finely balanced. Okehampton's keeper Hurley made a good start, coming off his line confidently to make a couple of useful saves.

Exmouth took the lead with a well struck free kick and soon after added a second goal.

Argyle responded well and managed to level with two goals from Burton, as they grew in confidence.

The action continued in the second half. A small slip of Okehampton's concentration allowed Exmouth to score and regain their lead.

Argyle kept their passing game going and pulled back an equaliser with Packer chipping Exmouth's keeper.

Argyle continued to have excellent possession, but against the run of play the home team re-took the lead, scoring from what seemed like an impossible angle, after a debatable freekick.

Argyle kept pressure on Exmouth's goal for the remaining minutes and were unlucky not to score, missing several good chances. Exmouth hung on to their one-goal lead to win.

Pinhoe U12s 0

Okehampton Argyle U12s 5

ARGYLE travelled to Pinhoe and secured a convincing win, maintaining their position of third in the league table.

With good football impossible to play due to a wet, heavy pitch Argyle put in a valiant effort. They took the game to Pinhoe and soon took the lead through a good passing move, finished by Rhys Palmer who slotted it in the net.

Shortly after they made it 2-0 from a good cross by Daniel Fogerty which was bundled in by Ross Voaden. With all the play in Pinhoe's half Argyle put away one further goal before half-time when Voaden lobbed the keeper. The back four of Liam Alford, Ryan Gross, Ben Jarvis and Ben Barkwill stood firm throughout and never looked like being breached. Jamie Mallett controlled the play from the centre of the park.

At half-time three substitutions were made with Ollie Francis coming on and making an instant impact finishing off an excellent move with a fine shot in the bottom corner. Ben Jarvis finished the scoring with a great individual goal.

Tiverton U12s 1

Okehampton Argyle U12s 0

ARGYLE had the great privilege of playing on Tiverton's first team pitch and both teams put on a magnificent display of fine football.

It was a closely fought contest with Argyle having slightly the better of the first half. The game could have gone either way but with Argyle's legs beginning to tire on the full size pitch Tiverton managed to score from a quick breakaway.

A fantastic team performance, certainly the best of the season.

Okehampton Argyle U10s 3

Lyme Regis U10s 0

AN outstanding team performance saw Okehampton beat a team that had a 100% unbeaten record.

In an even first half Josh Arthurs and Craig Penberthy defended really well with Eggy Vallance pulling off several excellent saves.

Okehampton took the lead early in the first half with a great drive from Penberthy into the bottom corner. The Okehampton midfield of Rhys Holland, Reece Foster and Archie Frier all had excellent games and Okehampton started to take control.

Frier had a fine shot saved by the keeper but Niall Leahy followed up to score Okehampton's second. Lyme Regis still caused problems and George Morgan in goal for the second half coped well. The third goal was a well worked team move from Foster, Leahy and Alex Marden who set up Frier to kill the game off.

Okehampton fully deserved the win which sets them up for this week's quarter-final match against Axminster.
