Okehampton Argyle U14s 1

Sidbury U14s 1

OKEHAMPTON started their season at home to Sidbury playing on the senior first team pitch, which was a treat for all the boys.

The game started with Argyle finding it difficult to settle. After 15 minutes Okehampton got their game together and started putting pressure on the Sidbury goal. Sidbury countered with a break away, which caught the defence out of position and the ball ended up in the back of the homeside net.

Argyle kept their heads up playing good football and got a deserved equaliser when Ollie Crimmins scored from a long range free kick. Sidbury were reduced to ten men shortly before half time.

In the second half Okehampton could not make the numerical advantage count even though they worked hard to get the winner, but the Sidbury defence held strong.

There were many good performances by the Argyle players but the outstanding player on the pitch was Josh Stanbury, in the heart of the defence.

Argyle have four new players in the team this season, all gelling well and having good games. The whole team worked extremely hard and showed great character. but lacking in self-confidence in their own ability. This was a solid start to the season which Argyle can build on.

n Okehampton U13s kicked off their season at home on Sunday against SAS.  A good team performance by Okehampton against a team that are usually quite strong.

Okehampton won the match 9-0 with goal scorers being Reece Foster (3), Nathan Harris (2) Dan Butler (1) Matt Isaac (1) Charlie Richards (1) plus an own goal.  Man of the match was Samuel  Jones.

IT was a great start to the season by Okehampton Argyle U12s with two wins in their first two games.  Against Crediton in a tight first half Argyle spurned numerous chances they took hold of the game and went on to win 4-1 with all four goals being scored by Harry Finley.  On Sunday against North Molton the result of the game was never really in doubt as Okehampton dominated from the start.  Goals came  thick and fast and Argyle were 8-0 up at half time.
