Beer Albion 3 Okehampton Argyle 1st 4 IN FRONT of large home support, Beer Albion arranged a reunion of their past players to come and cheer them on and were not disappointed to see a crowd of about 100 home supporters. Beer took the lead on 10 minutes, when their No 9 found space in the Argyle box to pick his spot and finish well. Unfortunately Okehampton lost central defender Michael Vernon after 12 minutes. Replacement was Stuart Cann. Okehampton played some good pass and move football and eventually got their reward when Matt Mortimore picked out Chris Wills, who chipped the ball over a square Albion defence for Steve Williams to finish. On the stroke of half time Okehampton pressure paid off and a Robert Sandercock corner could only be punched out to Matt Mortimore and from 20 yards Mortimore found the bottom corner. Beer came out in the second half with a changed formation and Argyle had to work hard to contain them. Daniel Malcolm in the Okehampton goal pulling off some superb saves to deny Albion?s strike force. Beer equalised on 70 minutes when a good move saw their No 12 hammer in an unstoppable shot. Okehampton continued to press forward. Sandercock picked out Adam Mortimore on the far post and a very good headed effort was well saved by the Albion keeper. With the game flowing from end to end it was Argyle that restored their lead on 75 minutes. The ball flew into the top corner. Okehampton seemed content to hold on to their lead but Beer had other ideas and cheered on by the large crowd enjoyed more of the final stages, equalising in stoppage time. Both sides still fancied their chances and it was Okehampton that stole the points on 95 minutes, through Steve Kinsey hammering the ball cleanly through a crowd of players. Much to the disappointment of the large crowd the referee then blew the whistle. This week home, kick-off 3pm.
