Oke Argyle U14s 0
Tiverton Town U14s . . 1
THIS top of the table clash had Okehampton needing all their team spirit as they fought and battled for every ball and created the better chances.
Argyle's Lewis Taylor had the first effort on goal from a free kick only to see it cannon back off the crossbar and Tiverton cleared.
The game was being played at a hectic pace and from end to end but the Okehampton defensive trio of Lewis, Conor and Josh limited the Tiverton forwards to one chance in the first half.
Ross, Sparky and Bicks were instrumental in everything good for Argyle as they continued to play the ball around on the deck and Foggy and Tallan provided good outlets down the flanks. Liam and Callum were mixing it well up front and were always putting the visiting defence under pressure.
After a goalless first half, Okehampton penned Tiverton in their own half although the visitors always looked dangerous on the break. Fine football down the left by Tallan and Bicks released Ross to cross to Foggy in the middle but first time strike was blocked on the line as were two further efforts. Ten minutes later a Bicks corner saw Lewis' goal-bound header cleared off the line and the follow up efforts were met with similar resolute defence.
It was Tiverton who scored the winner six minutes from time with a curling left-footed free-kick from the right corner of the box that nestled in the top corner.
