MEMBERS of the Tavistock Company of Archers were deeply saddened by the tragic death in June of Nicolas Ruelland, the popular president of les Archers de Pontivy, at the age of 33.

The news came just a few weeks after the Tavistock archers returned from another twinning visit to Ponivy.

Over the last six years, the twinning of the archery clubs of Tavistock and Pontivy has become more than a sporting relationship — a firm friendship has developed between the two clubs.

Tavistock members decided to honour Nicolas' memory by presenting an engraved plate to his father for donation to the French club as a trophy for future twinning tournaments.
