NOW that Goose Fair and its followers have left town can I raise a point about advertising and fly-posting?

Dolvin Road and Abbey Roundabout were obliterated with 20 fluorescent large signs for the fair a week before it arrived — all over the roundabout, Dolvin Road and outside the school, primarily listed buildings.

The town council, having put them up, have now not only demonstrated that West Devon Borough Council no longer have an enforcement officer to deal with such issues but also that the town council will turn a blind eye to any such further misdemeanours.

Since the fair left the billboards have finally been removed, only to be immediately replaced now by adverts for stunt displays and fireworks in Plymouth and now Alabama 3 in Plymouth as well.

You have left the barn door open now for an ‘anything goes’ attitude to all concerned.
