I HAVE to say that I agreed with every word in Barrie Knapp's letter in last week's Times.
I think it echoed the thoughts of the silent majority who have like me, by sheer apathy, allowed West Devon Borough Council to refuse planning permission to Sainsbury's.
Like hundreds of other people, I travel out of Tavistock to do my supermarket shopping as I don't like the limited choice currently available. When using Tesco in Launceston or Waitrose in Okehampton, I always visit the independent shops in those towns while I'm there.
Tavistock has missed a great opportunity to broaden its appeal to visitors.
