YELVERTON Tennis Club start their summer season with a social fun tournament on Bank Holiday Monday, May 6, from 11am to 5pm.
Anyone interested in joining the club would be welcome to join in the fun and barbecue lunch — bring your own food — the club will supply the drinks. For further details contact Margaret Huzzey on 855011.
The friendly club has three courts on the Yelverton War Memorial recreation field. New members are welcome for social club tennis or for league tennis — at present there are three men's and three ladies' teams in the Plymouth and District leagues and a thriving junior membership for which new members would be welcome.
There are regular weekly club sessions when players just turn up and play, and an excellent tennis coach available for all levels.
More tournaments are planned throughout the season, including the jubilee celebrations, summer, autumn and singles.
