A USEFUL new booklet on accessing a range of services in West Devon has been produced by the West Devon Transport Access Group.

A wide variety of information is included in the publication, which was funded with support from Devon County Council and West Devon Borough Council.

It covers how to access transport, young and older people's services, health, money advice and leisure activities.

Pat Sawyer, chair of Okehampton and District Community Transport Group, said: 'This booklet is for everyone's use.  People of all ages will find information to help with their regular or occasional needs.

'The information has been sourced from many different organisations and users will find it very convenient to have all of this within one publication. The information will also be available through the website westdevonservices.co.uk which will make it possible to keep it up to date.'

Cllr Stuart Hughes, Devon County Council cabinet member for highways and transportation, said: 'Many people may be unaware of the services that are available in their community, and this booklet has provided an excellent opportunity to co-ordinate a wide range of information into a single reference.

'It contains a vast amount of information and I hope it encourages more people to use the services that are available in West Devon.'

The booklet will be available across West Devon, including at libraries and tourist information centres in Tavistock and Okehampton.

Cllr James McInnes, Leader of West Devon Borough Council, said: 'This is a very welcome booklet and will help residents make the best use of what is available to them in West Devon. Copies can also be picked up at West Devon Connect outreach surgeries, which has venues such as Lifton, Bere Alston and Chagford.'
