ALL are welcome to join in two open fora meetings being held by TaVi (Tavistock and Villages Initiative) during the next week.
Jenny Tunley Price, who has been restoring the walled gardens at Maristow, will host the first event, Spring Grow TaVI, which will provide an opportunity to get together and exchange news and views on sowing, growing, producing and consuming local food. The event, today (Thursday) at 5.30pm, will be held in Maristow's walled garden, and soup, bread and cakes will be available. Participants can see Jenny's progress and join a discussion on training fruit trees. Anyone with seeds or plants they would like to swap is urged to bring them along.
The forum is being organised in conjunction with Transition Tavistock and Tamar Grow Local. For information email [email protected]">[email protected] or call 07969 569 444 or email simon@tamar growlocal.org or call 07887 983 143.
The second forum organised by TaVi is on Tuesday, April 16 at 10am and is being hosted by Healthwatch Devon and Tavistock and Area Senior Voice, at the Anchorage Centre in Tavistock.
Devon Senior Voice are key partners with the Community Council of Devon and CAB Devon in developing Healthwatch Devon as the new independent consumer watchdog for health and social care.
Ken Crawford, chair of DSV, who is involved in the establishment of Healthwatch Devon, will speak and this will be followed by questions and discussion. The Tavistock branch's annual meeting will follow the forum at 11.45am approximately.
Representatives from all groups in Tavistock and the surrounding parishes are most welcome to attend.
