HONOURS were even between Mount House Colts' rugby sides and Wellington School. Mount House Colts A team narrowly lost a match they really should have won, and the B team had a convincing victory.

The A team encounter was an ultimately frustrating game, in which Mount House played some attractive running rugby, and scored two well-worked tries in the first half, both of which were scored and converted by Billy Lambeth.

In the second half, the greater weight of the Wellington team told as the Mount House players tired, and some half-hearted challenges allowed their opponents to gain ground far too easily.

The Mount House boys did their best to hang on, but were finally defeated 15-14 by a try in the last few minutes.

Mount House Colts B team put in a superb performance.

The forwards gave another fine display, winning all of the scrums and totally out-rucking Wellington from start to finish.

Their impressive work ensured Mount House dominated possession, and the backs were able to make effective use of the resulting ball.

Angus Crofton gave a great individual performance and Oscar Norris scored an excellent try, running with some good pace from his own 22. The final score was 52-0.
