ORGANISERS of this year's Westcountry Balloon Fiesta are keeping their fingers firmly crossed for calm weather this weekend, with the aerial extravanganza scheduled to take place at Crowndale near Tavistock.

The balloons will start arriving in the town tomorrow (Friday) night and ascents are planned for 6.30am and 5.45pm this Saturday and Sunday, plus a tethered 'night glow' at 8.45pm on Saturday.

Organised by Tavistock Lions Club and Round Table Club, the event, sponsored by Robert Wiseman Dairies, also includes children's entertainment, a beer tent, refreshments and a charity bazaar.
