EDWARDIAN Evening in Okehampton tonight (Thursday) will be music to the ears, with the traditional ?Seven Carols at Seven? taking place in Red Lion Yard.
The Rev Cllr Mike Davies, chairman of Christians Together in Okehampton, will provide a welcome and brief word to all gathered before carol singing starts at 7pm.
Des Law, musical director of Okehampton?s Excelsior Band, will lead the band and those assembled through the festival carols.
The seven carols will be: Away in a Manger; Good King Wenceslas; Silent Night; The First Nowell; O Come, all ye faithful; While shepherd watched their flocks by night and O little town of
Bethlehem.
Cllr Christine Marsh, mayor of Okehampton, will provide a Christmas message to all gathered and make some presentations.
This includes a presentation to Rachel Brettall, from Okehampton Primary School, for winning the ?Christians Together in Okehampton? Christmas Card design competition.
