CHAGFORD Arts Festival will be celebrating the tenth anniversary of its inception this weekend with four days of art, music, cinema, food, fireworks and family entertainment. Highlights include an exhibition of ?nightscape? images by internationally renowned photographer Susan Derges which opens tonight (Thursday); an exhibition of photographic portraits called ?The Art of the Smile? on Saturday, and another of Chagford?s stand-up comedy nights which takes place on Sunday evening. As part of the festival, Chagford will be showing a selection of short, five to 15 minute movies on an open air screen in the town centre on both Friday and Saturday evening. And later into the night on Saturday, there will be a showing of An American Werewolf in London at the town?s open air amphitheatre. Music in the pubs on Saturday lunchtime and live comedy in the village hall finish off the festival. Add to that theatre, music, and a family swimming picnic at Millpond, and the festival promises something for everyone. Festivities begin tonight (Thursday) with bhangra drummers and a firework display at the foot of Meldon Hill.
