THE Devon Air Ambulance and Diabetes UK are to benefit from this year's Hatherleigh Rotary and Cricket Club's Fun Day on August 26.

This year there is an even wider range of activities with greater participation by community groups. The afternoon gets off to a rousing start at 1.30pm with a parade by Bideford Pipe Band. Later the local fire and rescue team will put on a live demonstration of their skills.

A first for Hatherleigh will be the appearance of well-known magician, Magic Martin and there will be the annual Hatherleigh Dog Show.

Throughout the afternoon Hatherleigh Silver Band will be playing and refreshments will be available.

Visitors can try their hand at archery, take a wagon ride or have a flutter on the horse racing or ferret racing.

More than two dozen stalls and side-shows are anticipated. The event is free and parking is available.
