AFTER months of training and fundraising Okehampton mother-of-two Caroline England is off on a Peruvian adventure next Wednesday.

Caroline will trek 100 kilometres in five days in the Scope Peru Hikeaway challenge, which she had to raise at least £2,500 to take part in.

The 32-year-old has been getting in shape by walking the hills around Okehampton and daily sessions on the exercise bike.

A dance, coffee morning, race night and raffle raised £2,802 and Caroline would like to thank everyone involved in helping her reach her target.

'People have been very supportive and have given their time and donations, for which I am very grateful,' she said.

Caroline said the trek over mountains and rough terrain will be the biggest challenge she has ever taken part in.

'I have done the Ten Tors but this is different — raising the money has been a challenge in itself,' she added. 'I am really looking forward to it now.'
