A FEW members of Tavistock Rugby Club will really be feeling the cold after taking part in a sponsored head shave to raise funds for Ovarian Cancer Action.
Will Brown organised the event after his girlfriend, Hannah Gorman, 25, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
Will said the head shave, held at Tavistock Rugby Club, was well supported.
He said: 'Hannah is currently being treated, and while the outlook appears hopeful, she is very keen to raise money for research and awareness into this disease.'
Will decided to arrange a head shave to lend moral support to Hannah, as she will lose her hair due to her treatment.
He said: 'We thought we would raise a couple of hundred pounds from friends and family but the donations just snowballed in the space of about a week.
'We're still getting money coming in but we're sitting at around £1,300.
'It's more than I expected to raise but now I'm thinking maybe we could raise a couple of thousand pounds.
'I want to thank Marjons, where my mum works, Drake Manor Inn and St Andrew's Primary School at Buckland Monachorum, Bromhead Accountants where I work, First Glance Beauty Studio in Tavistock where Hannah works, the rugby club and everyone else who donated.'
Anyone who would like to lend their support can do so by visiting the just giving website at http://www.justgiving.com/will-and-hannah">www.justgiving.com/will-and-hannah
