ALL Saints Church, Okehampton is to be open ?all hours? to allow more people to enjoy the peaceful air of the building. All Saints will now be kept open between the hours of 10am and 4pm every day. Rector of Okehampton the Rev Stephen Cook said: ?All Saints is a marvellous building in a wonderful setting and it is a shame that it has been locked up for so much of the time. ?As a church council we feel that the building belongs to the town and should be available for quiet prayer and reflection. ?We hope that lots of people will make the journey up the hill and have a moment to sit and think. ?Many people come to visit the churchyard already and they may like to call in while they are there.? The church will be manned some of the time on a rota basis and several other security measures have been taken to protect the building. Leaflets enabling a guided tour will also soon be available to visitors to the church.
