OKEHAMPTON Library will be celebrating National Bookstart Day with a special bounce and rhyme session for children under five.
Parents and carers with children under five are invited to join in a fun session of rhymes with musical instruments on Friday, October 10, between 2.45-3.15pm.
All children who attend will have the chance to win a Poppy Cat soft toy and book.
Bookstart works with libraries and health clinics to deliver free packs of books to babies at the eight month check-up. This ensures each baby has some books to explore. Parents are encouraged to see themselves as the babies' first and most important teacher. Bookstart believes babies and toddlers are never too young to enjoy sharing books.
Okehampton Library also runs regular bounce and rhyme sessions, under five parent and toddler craft sessions and under-five storytimes. For further details. contact the library on 01837 52805.
