IT has been a good year for young Tavistock golfer Alan Gawman.

His most recent triumph was the club championship, a knockout competition played over the summer. Alan finally won the final on the 21st hole after arriving at the 18th all square.

Alan, who has just turned 18, also won the Foster Ferris rose bowl with his father, John, the DE Cragg cup, the Alan Rees salver and best junior on president's day.

He also broke the Tavistock course record in August, completing the 18 holes in 65 strokes, two fewer than the previous record and five under par.
