IT is probably an insult to the original peoples to refer to those who insist on leaving burnt-out cars, discarded furniture, used disposable barbecues and even complete mobile barbecues as vandals, but what other expression fits the bill? The attached photograph shows the latest crop of rubbish: a complete, but damaged barbecue. There was also a small coach-full of seats, complete with safety belts. There?s much more, of course, but these are just examples of what is found from time to time. Harrowbeer was a fully operational airfield during world war two and, although it is now a playground for local people and for those from elsewhere, surely it should be treated with all the respect due to those who flew from there and for those who died in doing so?
