AFTER 12 months of acting as headteacher for Horrabridge Primary School, John Clarke has now been given the permanent role.

With the role starting after Easter, Mr Clarke said he was overjoyed to be offered the position: 'I am very pleased, and I intend to continue what I have been doing. I think the continuity will be a benefit to the school and will help to keep the school stable.'

Mr Clarke said the school has shown improvement in recent Ofsted reports and he hoped the continuity would help to improve it further.
